Kate & Steve’s Oxford Cottage
Before
Kate & Steve approached us early in the year because they had grand ideas for their home but they didn’t know where to start. The existing kitchen had an awkward shape that cut the room into two halves, the layout felt a little disjointed & it just wasn’t supporting their busy family home.
The Brief
Set in a beautiful listed cottage in the Oxfordshire country side, Kate & Steve had a really clear idea of what they wanted. An open & welcoming space, that while grand, still felt like a cosy spot to relax with family & to entertain friends. They had a vision board of English & French country estates filled with luxurious materials & unique furniture. They wanted lots of detail & texture including, beaded cabinetry, fluted glass & a bold distinctive worktop.
The Result
The finished spaces are truly something to admire. The kitchen & dining room offers a charming welcome to the newer portion of the property while turning into an opulent entertaining space in the evening. Some of the details include 18th century Louis XV armchairs, the antique French dining table & art works by John Waterhouse & Kay Davenport.
The scheme went a little further than just the kitchen & included turning the old WC into the scullery & opening a new archway into the kitchen. Creating a new smaller WC in the hallway, & fitting out the understairs area with practical storage. The Amplyfy team took care of everything from design right through to completion & we could not be happier with the outcome.
Kate & Steve are over the moon with their new spaces & the whole Amplyfy team are so proud to have worked on this sensational project.
Amplyfy have since been appointed for phase two of this property renovation & we are currently building a private entertainment space within the grounds; which includes: a glass link to the cottage, indoor outdoor social spaces, 2 beds & 2.5 bathrooms. Come & see us on Instagram for updates on this exciting project.
